Jake Sisko is the human son of Deep Space 9 Captain Benjamin Sisko. He is initially unenthusiastic about living on the station, but soon begins to make friends and considers it home.His best friend is Nog, a Ferengi, which causes some tension with his father given the strained relationship between Ferengi and Bajorans. Nevertheless, Jake s his friend, particularly when it comes to getting an education. He encourages him to attend school and even tutors him.Jake eventually takes an interest in Bajoran spiritual activities. He sometimes accompanies his father on missions off the station.During the Dominion War, Jake stays behind on the station to serve as a front line reporter.
