Dr. Owen Hunt is introduced in the fifth season and s Seattle Grace Hospital as the head of trauma surgery. He grew up in Seattle, just six miles from the hospital, before moving to Northwestern to attend college before heading to Harvard for medical school. He enlisted in the Army after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and moved to Seattle after he was honorably discharged.
